24-hour shared taxis
By far the most convenient and safe way to get around the island, the two-rowed shared taxis
(they look like mini buses) make frequent trips around the island. The hub for all taxis is in
Tongsala and you can easily get one once you arrive on the island. Expect to pay a minimum
of 100 THB per person for most rides. Most taxis will want to wait until there are at least
several passengers on board, so expect to pay more if you do not want to wait for other
passengers. Awe Resort is located on the Tongsala-Haad Rin route, so there are many taxis
running at all hours. If you plan on going to visit one other beach for the day, this is the most
economical and easy travel option. Upon arrival at your destination beach, contact any hotel
to see if they have a shared taxi back to Tongsala on the way home or wait roadside. |

Motorbikes and automatic scooters
A fun way to see the island and perfect for visiting lots of different beaches. Our restaurant
can arrange for motorbike rentals or simply get one once you arrive at the pier. Expect to
leave your passport and pay about 300 THB per day, not including the price of fuel. |

Jeeps
If you are planning on heading to the more remote beaches of the far north coast such as
Tong Nai Pan or the stunning waterfall of Than Sadet, then renting a jeep is the preferred
travel option. Contact our restaurant or any car rental shops in Tongsala for more details. |

Private drivers
Leave the driving to a professional! Awe Resort can arrange for a private driver. Minimum
price is 2000 THB per day for an air conditioned van (good option for families or big groups). |

Mountain bikes
Most beaches and towns can be easily reached by a mountain bike (triathlons are a regular
fixture on the island). Contact the restaurant for directions to a nearby mountain bike shop. |
